New York City the Person, By "nameless"

In the title it says my name is Nameless. As you can probably tell that is not my name. I am also not who you think I am. Enough about me, lets get to the point, shall we?
New York City. It is wonderful, dirty, expensive, poor, exciting and curious. I bet your thinking "Is this person crazy?! New York doesn't have a personality! Nor can it be all of those things if it was!" Am I crazy....lets leave that question open for a bit; however, New York City is not a place at all. When you look closely, it is a person. It has different personalities, ways of thinking, and different moods.
Manhattan is alive, eccentric, happy and a little old fashioned in it's looks. When you get to know it, it's talkative and has a nice sense of humor. The stores are like different points in time. The drug stores, clothes stores, ice cream shops, grocery stores and 5TH AVENUE are modern, past the 90's if you want to say that. The old apartments, detailed building designs, old alleys, victorian windows and the hidden lofts are a little bit 80's-90's.
Queens...is just interesting. It is very unpredictable. It can be full of people and frighteningly empty. It's kind of like a bipolar 21 year old. There isn't much to it.
Hoboken is very quiet. If you want to live a more calm life where the grocery store is just around the corner and you know all your neighbors and be friends with daily by passers and hobos sometimes, this is the place for you.
New York City is such a wonderful places! If your hungry, you have about 5 different countries outside your front door!
You don't even need to worry about walking your dog. You have the biggest back yard anyone could want, Central Park. I think Central Park is where New York City's essence is. It's like that one place inside all of us that feels like home. It's the heart of everywhere and anything. It has a certain "Je ne sais quoi." You know when you have a long, hard day and you just want to go to a place where you can let the past be the past and look forward to the unexpected future? Well Central Park is that place where that can unravel. Go for a run if your angry, go have peaceful picnic, have a nice romantic lunch date *wink wink*, or just be a family and friends kind of person where you can have that annual family sports day.
All of this is what makes New York City the best person I know! Once you get to know it, it can be that friend where no matter what, it will always be there and will always know exactly what say no matter what day it is. To me, it's my Best Friend. Don't believe me? thats your lose. It's like the kid in school that you've just met. Meeting someone new can be little shaky but they will turn into your greatest companion.
It's now time to answer your question. Am I crazy?

Sentence Structure of Dickens

Charles Dickens was a very talented writer, the structure of his sentences created meaning throughout his story.
In the very early pages of A Christmas Carol, Dickens uses (Chapter 1 pg. 2) Epistrophe when describing Ebenezer Scrooge. He calls him "a squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner." This makes us define in our minds that Scrooge is a horrible person in every form of his personality which intensifies a dislike for him.
He uses this again later (chapter 2 pg. 29) when the Ghost of Christmas Past is unveiling a vision of the Christmas in the town where Scrooge grew up and went to school. Ebenezer notices odors "each one connected with a thousand thoughts, and hopes, and joys, and cares long, long forgotten." this makes you feel like all of these past memories are suddenly rushing back at once creating meaning and emotion.
Dickens also uses repletion. He repeats the word long "cares long, long forgotten." this creates the meaning that

Favorites and non favorites

I think my favorite thing we have done this semester is create STORY TIME :) there are other things, but I think that would have to be at the top of my list! The second thing would have to be doing the character descriptions. It really channeled my imagination and that side of my brain that school doesn't allow me to use a lot of the time. When I get to create a person from my mind it's like creating an extension of myself that I didn't know was there.
My least favorite thing would have to be writing about all the literary devices in sentences in a story. I didn't like this because sometimes it was difficult to find the instances and also putting the instances into the highly structured paragraphs was mentally very difficult for me. I personally like a little more freedom when I right. When I am structured it feels like my creative writing side is shutting down. This is "Creative Writing Class" correct?

GREAT JOB!!

Christmas break time!
I look forward to seeing you all in January. Remember to have The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde and The Hobbit.

And remember- the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.

Likes?

I would say the homework was a disliked part of this class but i never like homework because its more work and it takes up time at home that i could have been using to do something else, a bit more entertaining.
But this something that could not be changed so there's no point mentioning this, however there are other things about the class that were vary rewarding, such as:

                   - learning to annotate

                   - learning how to use literary devises

                   - improving my grammar and vocabulary

These are some things that i would like to continue to do in this class next year and any other years i might spend in the class.

Happiness

Literature class was a pretty cool class.  I learned a ton!  Thank you Mallory!  The terms and techniques were nice things to put in my writing tool box.  The cinnamon pumpkin marshmallows were awesome!  I also enjoyed how much ground we covered this semester.

Some of the things i liked and disliked about the class.

Hmm? One of my favorite things we learned to be better at would have been annotating. However I did not enjoy having to read everything over a thousand times before writing about it. My second favorite was characterization, because I learned how to pick apart at characters in a story. One other thing I enjoyed is sitting on the floor for story time ha-ha.
