Sentence Structure of Dickens

Charles Dickens was a very talented writer, the structure of his sentences created meaning throughout his story.
     In the very early pages of A Christmas Carol, Dickens uses (Chapter 1 pg. 2) Epistrophe when describing Ebenezer Scrooge. He calls him "a squeezing,wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous old sinner." This makes us define in our minds that Scrooge is a horrible person in every form of his personality which intensifies a dislike for him.
     He uses this again later (chapter 2 pg. 29) when the Ghost of Christmas Past is unveiling a vision of the Christmas in the town where Scrooge grew up and went to school. Ebenezer notices odors "each one connected with a thousand thoughts, and hopes, and joys, and cares long, long forgotten." this makes you feel like all of these past memories are suddenly rushing back at once creating meaning and emotion.
    Dickens also uses repletion. He repeats the word long "cares long, long forgotten." this creates the meaning that
