The title of this story explains a lot about the story even before you start reading. You know it is
about a woman who is being judged by her peers. Once beginning the story I realized it was strange and had a sort of dark, creepy, menacing feel about it. As though the decision of whether or not a woman should be punished is something that bares down on you as you read. It was rather intriguing and I don't actually know if the woman killed her husband or not. There are lots of possible explanations as to how and why Mr. Wright died. While it is unlikely that someone else besides Mrs. Wright came into his room and killed him, it is still possible. Then there is the possibility that he killed himself but this is not vary likely ether as he didn't really have a reason for doing this. Finally there is the possibility that his wife killed him, however there are many reasons for this. One is that was driven to insanity, this can be seen as she was not really acting in a normal mood for someone having just killed someone. Another alternative is that she killed her husband in a rage because he killed her bird, which was her only other company. Lastly she could have been defending herself and ended up killing him in the proses. She would be safe from being arrested however this is also unlikely because he was hung. I wish I could believe that it was the last one but as I said it is unlikely.
