A adventure.. With speckled trout?
In the adventure of the speckled trout, the author uses many exciting techniques to create dramatic suspense. Sir Authur created suspense by giving the reader all the clues, but not entirely telling the reader everything that Holmes was thinking until the end of the story. It gives the reader a challenge to figure out. Sir Authur also formulated suspense by giving the characters a feeling of secrecy. Such as when Holmes and Watson had to move soundlessly through the night in order to find out what kind of danger lurked in the woman's room. The awareness of danger in this story gives it a feeling of even more suspense. Like when the detectives were wandering outside the girl's house and they spot a evil looking creature jumping about in the undergrowth. It throws the reader a surprised feeling of danger, but quickly diminishes it by Holmes recognizing it as the harmless baboon.
